Description
Die Glocke (The Bell) is a significant concert hall located in the historic center of Bremen, Germany. It consists of two halls: the Large Hall (Großer Saal) seats 1,400 people, and the Small Hall (Kleiner Saal) seats 395 and can be used for receptions and meetings. The building has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages, when an octagonal cathedral chapter house stood on this site. The current structure was completed in 1928 according to designs by architect Walter Gehrig and was restored between 1995 and 1997, preserving the original Art Deco finishes.
The building's architecture is constructed of dark brick with minimal use of stone. The gable faces the Domscheid, while the Grasmarkt façade is adorned with modest bay windows.
